WELLNESS & HEALTH
ORIENTED TRAVEL

Beyond hygiene, wellness tourism has emerged as a lucrative segment. Wellness travel trips aimed at improving one’s physical or mental health, is forecast to reach $1.3 trillion by 2025, growing faster than traditional tourism. Hotels and resorts are capitalizing on this by integrating wellness into their services. Spas have become almost standard in upscale properties, and many are expanding offerings from standard massages and facials to comprehensive wellness programs. It’s now common to see sound healing, guided meditation sessions, and on-demand workout programs available to guests. Some resorts specialize entirely in wellness retreats focusing on mindfulness, digital detox, nutrition, and holistic healing.

The concept of “well-being” in hospitality also extends to healthy dining options and lifestyle activities. Recognizing that modern travelers want to stay healthy on the road, hotel restaurants in 2025 offer more plant based and organic menu options, fresh pressed juices, and special diets as part of their standard fare. The plant based food trend is indeed notable, the market for meat alternatives and plant based foods has more than doubled from $3.9B in 2017 to over $8B in 2023, and hospitality venues are responding to that demand with creative vegetarian and vegan dishes. Fitness facilities, too, are getting upgrades: hotels are investing in better gyms, sometimes partnering with fitness brands or providing in room fitness equipment like yoga mats and weights. Some have dedicated wellness concierges who can personalize a fitness or relaxation regimen for guests.
